Hello Webbies! Five years after blogs really start getting popular I decided that it would be shiny if I started one. Yeah, I’m not considered the hippest and most up to date individual. In fact I think I’m probably what most people would consider amazingly average. I of course do not think so. My life is filled with day to day drama! My problems are very important… to me, and so are my triumphs. This little web site is here to chronicle those ups and downs, and perhaps let you, little webbies that you are, have a laugh. I promise to try to keep things light, informative, and not to complain too much. I will also try to be honest, hard as that may be to people I don’t know. I will also try to update regularly. So there it is the three promises you’ll get on this site.
What else should you expect? Well the title, such as it is, of this page is “A Fertile Imagination” and boy howdy have I got one heck of an imagination. I love thinking up stories about warriors, fairies, aliens, and vampires. So yeah you may see the occasional fan-fic or original work posted somewhere on the page. You may also see the occasional picture or drawing, and I’ll warn you right now my drawings look like the drawings of an untalented eight year old, so look at them at your own risk. The other part of the title, fertile, I am not, but that’s another post.
In way of introduction let me tell you a little about me and some important people who may end up in this blog.
Stara: Me. Late 20’s…Okay 26. I have an associate’s degree that is currently being used for writing this blog. I stay at home and clean, sew, cook, game, write, garden, read, basically anything I can think of to get away from doing laundry. My most hated chore. My degree has an emphasis in history, but it is just an associate’s degree, so basically I have the schooling to tutor your middle school student on the English War of the Roses. I’m overweight and love chocolate so changing that will be hard. Finally as a side note I like climbing trees.
Fox: Husband/Best Friend. Met him when I was a wee lass of 12, his age then being double mine. I finally convinced him I was more then his best-friends step-sister when I was eighteen. Then it took me another six years to get him to marry me. He is the smartest, kindest, funniest, best kisser I know. He is a computer programmer and you can see his awesome eBay sniping tool here. He will probably in this blog more then anyone, but me of course.
The Mom: My Mother. She is a smart hard workin’ lady who I love very much… 98% of the time. Mom is a dedicated Mormon. Me, not with the so much. This has lead to some conflict, but for the most part now we don’t talk about it. Because she had to work so hard bringing up me and the siblings she is very into me going to school and getting bigger and better degrees, to the point she doesn’t want Fox and I to start down the children path yet. Too bad for her.
Dad: The paternal part of my parental set. My dad is charismatic, handsome, and a quick wit. He also wasn’t terribly involved in my growing up years. He is very supportive and understanding, and I really wish I could get past my issues with him being gone while I was growing up so that we could have a closer bond. He REALLY wants Fox and me to have lots of babies. Twins would send him into ecstasy.
The Step-Mom: She’s well…married to Dad. The lovely lady came into my life when I was eleven. Like any child of divorce I have conflicting feelings about her. Even writing this introduction I don’t know if I should play to the she was mean to The Mom side of my psyche or The Step-Mom’s always been real nice to me part. She also wants us to have lots of kidlets. Oh and The Step-Mom has MS and is in a wheelchair a lot. I put that in so you webbies don’t get confused if I mention it.
The Boys: Good friends. We often go off and do things with The Boys on weekends. Fox and Shaterri are programming and Magic buddies from long, long ago. We watch their cat when they’re away and vice-a-versa. It’s often an adventure going off with the boys.
Mega-Bit: Little sister. Mega-bit is currently Sister Mega-bit, giving much pride to The Mom. She is a missionary for the Mormon Church… in Idaho. She says she is doing well, but basically that’s all we hear. She keeps trying to turn her wayward big sister back toward the gospel. Before her mission the one word I would have used to describe Mega-bit would have been cynical, (also a bit naive). Now it’s chipper, which was seldom her before. She was and is a sweet heart and I miss her loads!
Boy: Little brother. Boy is older then Mega-bit and I’m sure if he worked at it, he is the smartest of the three of us kids. Boy is the constant comedian and you should hear his Donald Duck voice. He is my twin, Irish twin at least. He is only thirteen months younger then me. I know he’s having a rough time right now, no girlfriend. We don’t talk much, but he’s always fun to be around.
That’s about it. There are of course more, but I think that’ll do for the preliminaries.
Keep Surfing Webbies and may all your Imaginings be Fertile!
